Thirty Years at the Same Corner of Butte
Dr. Darrell Turley opened the doors of St Francis Veterinary Hospital on October 5, 1993, at 11 Dewey Blvd, just off Rowe Road. He chose Butte because it was home, and he has never left. That building, that address, and that same front door have welcomed generations of pets and their owners ever since.
A graduate of Montana State University in Bozeman, Dr. Turley earned his DVM and returned to southwest Montana to build something lasting. What started as one veterinarian committed to compassionate, affordable care has grown into a team with well over 100 combined years of experience, including his wife Lisa, who has managed the practice for 30 of those years.
The hospital was formally incorporated on July 16, 2001, but the philosophy has never changed: you deserve to understand what is happening with your pet, and your pet deserves to be treated like family. That is not a marketing line. It is how every day actually runs here.
Butte is a tough, close-knit community. Dr. Turley has been quoted in the Montana Standard on local pet safety topics because neighbors trust him to tell it straight. That trust has been earned through three decades of showing up, being honest, and caring deeply.

Dogs and cats experience the world very differently, and our facility reflects that. We maintain separate, dedicated exam rooms for dogs and cats so your pet is never sharing space with an unfamiliar species before or during their visit.
Our back treatment room has always been open. You are welcome to see where your pet goes when they leave the exam room. Nothing is hidden because there is nothing to hide; we practice the same way whether or not anyone is watching.
The hospital at 11 Dewey Blvd has been our only home since 1993. We have invested in keeping it clean, well-equipped, and comfortable for both our patients and the people who bring them in. You will find the same familiar faces and the same welcoming space every time you visit.
